Avezzano

Avezzano is a city in the Marsica area of Abruzzo, in southern Italy, set on the wide Fucino plain and surrounded by the Apennine mountains. Once the bed of a lake, the plain is now open farmland, giving the town a spacious setting with mountain views in most directions, and it sits within reach of national parks and traditional hill villages.
